Mt. Pisgah Trails in Westmore

Just 15 minutes from Burke, Westmore, is home to several mountain and hiking trails for all skill levels. Be sure to bring your camera. These spectacular breathtaking views are worth a thousand words.

Mt. Hor

Mt. Hor’s 2648 foot summit elevation offers views of several ponds in the valley as well as a view of the Green Mountains in the distance. With two overlook choices you’ll have memorable views of Lake Willoghby, the White Mountains, Owl’s Head, and Mount Orford.

Bald Mountain Trails

The third highest peak in the Northeast Kingdom, Bald Mountain, provides one of the best views in the area from is newly restored fire tower. Three trails access the summit. The Telegraph trail, the Mad Brook Trail, and the Long Pond trail are maintained by the Westmore Association, the Northeast Kingdom Conservation Service Corps and volunteers with the Green Mountain Club.

The State of Vermont has recently acquisitioned the summit properties of Bald Mountain, including the Fire Lookout’s Cabin, Tower and much of the upper Mad Brook Trail within the Willoughby State Forest which has allowed the restoration work in recent years including the full renovation of the historic summit fire tower.
